The reflection revealed
To the soulless wearer
Of a mask of pretence,
A stranger in the mirror.

Living in inertia
Through times, darker or fairer,
Transforming, to oblivion,
A stranger in the mirror.

Overdosed on the rouge drug,
Becoming, of shame, a bearer,
Imprisoned by illusions,
A stranger in the mirror.

Recognising, beyond hypocrisy,
That familiar face, now clearer,
What I see is, after all, me,
A stranger in the mirror.
